Cell Phone rant
May 11th, 2006 Posted in Personal News, Rants, TechnologyWell I “finally” got me one of them newfangled camera phones. Before I was using a cameraless LG VX4500, and I upgraded to an LG VX5200 using Verizon’s “new every 2″ plan (which basically means I got the phone for free.) The verdict?
Not worth the $0 I spent on it. For one, the camera is useless. I have seen the shotty pictures that other camera phones have taken, so I knew the picture quality wouldn’t be up to par. But now I find I can’t even get the pictures off the damn thing! You see, I figured I wouldn’t waste my money on the picture messaging and I’d just get a USB cable off of eBay and download the pictures that way. Well, they crippled it in a way that you can’t do that. So yeah, I also spent $5 on a useless USB cable. Well at least I can charge up my phone from my laptop now.
So how is it as a phone? The sound quality is not good, worse than that of my old phone. The phone also has the same quirk as my old phone, it randomly calls my wife while its in my pocket. And its a flip phone, so there’s no way it could do that. But it does.
The only improvement is its slightly more responsive than the VX4500. Thats important for playing Zuma, which is about the only thing I do with it. Fun stuff.
So if you don’t have a camera phone and you’re in the market for a new phone, don’t bother.

I hope you don’t lose your phone. That would make you a moron, and you would deserve to lose the phone, right? Jackass.

If I was dumb enough to leave a phone in the back of a taxi cab, then yes… I’d deserve to lose the phone.
If you find a dollar on the side of the road and you pick it up, does that mean you stole a dollar? No. That means you found a dollar.
If you reached into someone’s pocket and took the dollar then you stole it.
