Less substance, more filler.

iMacs to fly off shelves in 5…4…3…2…

April 5th, 2006 Posted in News, Technology

Well Apple has gone and done it.  They just released a beta of BootCamp, a piece of software that allows you to officially run Windows XP on a Mac.  My wallet is burning a hole in my pocket right now.  Although I’d shutter to see XP running on any piece of hardware I own, the ability to do some things (like ASP development) on a Mac is very tempting.  VERY tempting.  VERY VERY tempting.

Best quote:

Macs use an ultra-modern industry standard technology called EFI to handle booting. Sadly, Windows XP, and even the upcoming Vista, are stuck in the 1980s with old-fashioned BIOS. But with Boot Camp, the Mac can operate smoothly in both centuries.
