Less substance, more filler.

Fun With GarageBand

February 18th, 2006 Posted in Personal News, Technology

Let me preface this by saying I have absolutely no musical talent whatsoever. I got a guitar for my birthday one day in high school but never learned to play it. When I was in my BBS surfing days I created a few MOD (actually S3M) files just playing around. If GarageBand had come out around then, I’d have been in heaven.

For those of you who don’t know what GarageBand is, its kind of like a Fisher Price style My First Recording Studio on steroids. Why do I have it? Well if you want stuff like Apple’s iPhoto, you’re pretty much forced to buy it. So why not play around with it.

So you can plug in music keyboards and even a guitar and actually make real music with it. Or, if you’re like me and don’t know what a note is, you can just throw together the pre-packaged loops until something sounds somewhat decent. So below (if I can get upload to work) are two examples of what you can do in GarageBand with absolutely no talent. ;) Enjoy (or don’t).

    As Paris Hilton would say

    “That’s hot.”
